What is a 'Blue'?A 'Blue' is the highest honour granted to individual sportspeople at the University of Oxford and is a highly sought-after achievement for Oxford student athletes. The awarding of a Blue is dependent on the status of each sport and the specific criteria associated with competing at the highest level within that sport. Both our Men's and Women's 1st XI squads are awarded Full Blues in recognition of the exceptionally high level of competition at which they perform.
-
I enjoy playing hockey, but I am not sure if I am good enough to make one of the teams. What should I do?"Anyone is welcome to join OUHC! Come along to one of the trial sessions in Michaelmas so we can assess the best level for you. If you aren't ready yet to play in one of our competitive sides, there is still plenty of hockey for you! Our Development Academy runs every Sunday by members of our Blues teams and there are plenty of inter-college matches to get involved in - you can find out more about College Hockey here!
