Our Club

Any questions? We've got it covered! Please see our frequently asked questions below.

  • How do I join OUHC?
It is very easy to join! Just visit our 'Join Us' page for details of how to register.
  • Where do we play?
All of our training sessions and home matches take place at Iffley Road Sports Centre. If you are travelling to us by car, the address is Jackdaw Lane, Iffley Road, Oxford, OX4 1SR. If you are arriving on foot or by bicycle, you can access the pitch via pedestrian gates on Iffley Road.
  • When does my team train?
You can find information about when each team trains here.
  • When are trials?
Freshers' Trials take place at the beginning of Michaelmas Term (usually on Sunday of 1st Week). This is the best way to show off your skills and learn more about the club. Keep an eye out for more details on the website and our social media feeds.
  • What colour is the club kit and where do I buy it?
The primary colour worn by OUHC (and indeed all other Oxford sport teams) is dark blue. Our home kit consists of a navy playing shirt, navy shorts and navy socks. Our away kit consists of a white playing shirt, navy shorts and white socks. Club kit can be purchased from Blue Blood Sports, our official kit supplier. For more details, see the Club Kit page.
  • Who do I speak to about sponsoring the club?
We’d love to hear from you! Please check out our Sponsorship page for more details on the various sponsorship options, or contact our Sponsorship Director to find out more.
  • What is a 'Blue'?
A 'Blue' is the highest honour granted to individual sportspeople at the University of Oxford and is a highly sought-after achievement for Oxford student athletes. The awarding of a Blue is dependent on the status of each sport and the specific criteria associated with competing at the highest level within that sport. Both our Men's and Women's 1st XI squads are awarded Full Blues in recognition of the exceptionally high level of competition at which they perform.
  • I enjoy playing hockey, but I am not sure if I am good enough to make one of the teams. What should I do?"
Anyone is welcome to join OUHC! Come along to one of the trial sessions in Michaelmas so we can assess the best level for you. If you aren't ready yet to play in one of our competitive sides, there is still plenty of hockey for you! Our Development Academy runs every Sunday by members of our Blues teams and there are plenty of inter-college matches to get involved in - you can find out more about College Hockey here!
