Infrequents

Captain's Welcome

The Infrequents (also known as Is or Ians) are the third of OUHC’s four amazing men’s teams. In this position within the club we pride ourselves on balancing an enjoyment of both socialising and playing. On and off the pitch, the infrequent’s don’t really live up to their name: with two trainings and two matches a week alongside one or two organised socials every week, playing in the Is provides people with excellent opportunities to meet great guys and form long term bonds and really become a member of OUHC as a wider club; not just of one team. Although the schedule may be busy, our slightly more laidback approach to hockey means that the main focus of the Ians is enjoyment.

 

Make no mistake, the I's are fiercely competitive and have an expectation to win. A lot of fresh faces at the start of the season meant it took a while for the team to gel. Once it did, the Ian’s stormed South Central Div 3 North, with a lengthy unbeaten streak and earned promotion in 2nd place. The Ian’s also came 2nd in the Midlands 3B BUCS league, narrowly missing out on promotion. We’ll also be looking to rebound from a narrow varsity loss against Cambridge university Hockey Club’s third team that came down to penalty shuffles.
